Sam
and Funmi received a
mandate from God to
be sold out to, and
see to, the
advancement of the
Kingdom of God here
on earth. Soon after
they were married in
1996, God made it
clear to them that
His major goal, as
truly as He lives,
is to ensure that
“all the earth… be
filled with the
glory of the Lord…”
(Numbers 14:21.)
They received this
as God’s call on
their lives and have
since been, and are
still, committed to
this call.
The Response: First, they launched
out aggressively preaching the Gospel to whoever
cared to listen. From house to house; in the market
places; in the streets; in the villages and cities
of their native Nigeria; organizing crusades;
breaking the ground and possessing land for the
LORD; planting churches; raising committed and
vibrant servants of God, and building living temples
of the Living God. They have been, and still are,
great mentors and encouragers to many.
Education: They both hold degrees in two
different fields. Sam holds a degree in City
Engineering (Urban and Regional Planning) and Funmi
holds a degree in Physical and Health Education.
Both are graduates of International Bible College of
Ministries, IBCOM, Ibadan, Nigeria. They have each
served as Associate Pastors and Head Pastors in
Nigeria.
The Commission: In 1998, the word of God
came to them on the basis of Isaiah 49:8. “Thus
saith the LORD in an acceptable time have I heard
thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee:
and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a
covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to
cause to inherit the desolate heritages.” With this
word, and others, God raised them as part of the
fulfillment of His Covenant to the people (as
solutions), hence, as missionaries, commissioned to
reach out to the whole world with base in The United
States.
The Grace of God: On the 22nd day of
August, 1999, Overcomers’ Christian Center was
birthed with four adults and two children Since
then, the hand of the LORD, and His grace has become
evident. The Voice of His Grace, an outreach arm of
the Ministry, is reaching out in prints to many as
Voice of His Grace magazine. Overcomers’ School of
Ministries is established to raise, train, and
prepare men and women to be part of the end-time
army of the LORD, ready for the imminent end-time
revival world over. Sam and Funmi are committed to
being their brothers’ keepers as they daily
intercede for missionaries and ministers of the
Gospel, and reach out to strengthen and encourage
the servants of God however the Holy Spirit leads.
They currently reside in Columbus, Ohio and are
blessed with godly children.
