Persistency
Firmness is to continue steadfastly—to last or endure tenaciously or to be insistent in a statement or request. Calvin Coolidge said, “Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence—persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. “ The slogan “Press On” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

Most of us give up too soon. That does not mean that we should always persist and never give up. Sometimes giving up is the last option, but we should not do so until God says “Enough.” In other words, persistency is not the same as stubbornness.

There are two beautiful stories of persistence in the Bible. In Matthew 15:21-28, this woman wanted healing for her daughter. She did not allow Jesus’ response and attitude towards her to discourage her. She was humble and persisted until she got what she wanted. There is also the widow in Luke 18:2-8. Even though the judge did not fear God, but because she persisted and went back to the judge over the same issue, he granted her request. If an unjust man could do that, how much more our God?

I don’t know what your requests or desires or visions are, but do not give up. God is not going to give up on you. Be strengthened in the Lord. Persistence of actions comes from persistence of vision. When you are clear about what you want, be consistent and your consistency of action will produce consistency of results. Press on. Don’t give up.
